The full story
Instead of Excel lists, email attachments and USB sticks: two tailor-made tools, live in daily use, that give the fiduciary firm 192 hours a year back.
Starting point
A fiduciary firm lives on billable time. That is exactly where Jucker Treuhand lost the most — not in the client work itself, but in everything around it.
- Time tracking in Excel. Hours were kept by hand in spreadsheets, holiday accounting updated manually. Every correction and every month-end consolidation was manual work — error-prone and hard to trace.
- Client documents through three channels. Tax documents arrived by email, by post and on USB sticks. Each delivery had to be checked, sorted, assigned and chased up when something was missing.
Neither is a spectacular problem. But these are exactly the tasks that come back every week and add up to whole working weeks — time that helps neither the client nor the firm.
Solution
We did not introduce a generic tool. We built two tools tailored exactly to Jucker's Swiss fiduciary practice.
- Tailor-made time tracking incl. holiday accounting. Replaces the manual Excel upkeep completely. Hours are logged directly, holiday balances are kept up to date, and reports appear without manual consolidation.
- One client upload tool. One channel for all tax documents instead of a mix of email, post and USB sticks. Clients upload their documents in a structured way, and the firm has everything in one place.
Both tools are live in daily use. That is the real proof: not a pilot that fizzles out after three weeks, but tools that are actually used in day-to-day work — because they are faster than the old way.
Result
The hard result, confirmed by Jucker Treuhand: 192 hours saved per year. That is over four full working weeks that no longer go into Excel upkeep and document handling, but into client work.
Valued cautiously at an internal hourly rate of CHF 80, this gives an equivalent value of over CHF 15,000 per year (192 h × CHF 80 = CHF 15,360). This is a rough model calculation, not an invoiced sum — the 192 hours are real, the franc figure is our conservative extrapolation.
More important than the one-off effect: both tools keep running. The saving repeats year after year, without anyone having to think about it.
Transparency and assumptions · As of: October 2026
Transparency on the numbers: the 192 hours per year and the daily use are values confirmed by Jucker Treuhand. The franc amount is our own rough estimate: 192 h × CHF 80/h (a cautiously set internal hourly rate for a Swiss SME) ≈ CHF 15,360, rounded to «over CHF 15,000». For illustration, we model the 192 h conservatively as roughly 138 h from time tracking/holiday accounting (about 3 h a week of manual upkeep and consolidation) plus roughly 54 h from document handling (about 1 h a week). This split is an assumption, not a measured value. It is a rough estimate, not guaranteed values — the actual saving depends on firm size, client mix and workload.
Frequently asked questions
Are the 192 hours a measured value?
Yes. The 192 hours saved per year and the daily use are confirmed by Jucker Treuhand. Only the conversion into francs (CHF 80/h) and the split of hours between the two tools are our conservative estimates — marked as such.
Can this be applied to our fiduciary firm?
The order of magnitude, yes; the exact number, no. How much a firm saves depends on team size, client mix and how much still runs by hand today. That is why we start with the scoping and planning, and forecast the saving for your situation before anything is built.
Where is client data kept in a fiduciary tool?
Preferably on-premise or with Swiss/EU providers. Tax documents are sensitive — data protection (FADP/GDPR) is a basic requirement for us, not an add-on, and is settled contractually before we start.
