Carbo-Link

Carbo-Link makes high-performance carbon components for cable cars, bridges, sport and industry. Instead of staying with standard software that is expensive and does not fit its processes, TW Projects built Carbo-Link its own system: a hybrid AI system where employees and AI agents work with the same functions. The AI proposes, the person confirms.

Starting point

Carbo-Link worked with Odoo. The standard software was expensive and only partly mapped the processes of a specialised manufacturer. At the same time, AI was meant to work in everyday operations in future, and in a way that keeps sensitive production data from leaving the company uncontrolled.

What we built

• Its own system for the whole company: HR (attendance, absences, expenses, payroll), warehouse, production, purchasing, sales and accounting on one shared base.
• Built for people and AI: employees and AI agents use the same functions, each with their own rights. An AI never gets more than the person it works for.
• The AI proposes, the person confirms: proposals only take effect once someone approves them. Every step is logged, noting whether a person, a service or an agent acted.
• Clear data boundaries: every sensitive field is marked as to whether it may go to an external language model or stays in-house.
• In your own house: the system runs on Carbo-Link's servers, and sign-in goes through the company account.

Result

Carbo-Link now has its own, complete company system instead of expensive standard software, with the existing business data from Odoo. It adapts to the business, not the other way round.

Above all, it is the foundation for AI in everyday work: because rights, approvals and data boundaries are built into the system from the start, AI agents can take on work without anyone giving up control. The AI works on clean data and clear rules instead of isolated solutions.

The numbers are a target assumption, not a measurement: about 40 employees, 2 hours each per week taken over by the AI agents in the target system, 45 working weeks (3,600 hours), valued at CHF 80 per hour (CHF 288,000). Built are the system with its areas, the transferred business data and the rules for people and AI; go-live happens area by area. Measured values replace the assumption as soon as they are available.

Why not just use standard software?

Because at Carbo-Link it was expensive and only partly mapped the processes. A system of your own adapts to the business, not the other way round, and it is built from the start so that AI can work in it safely.

Why does a person always confirm?

Because responsibility has to stay in the business. The AI prepares and proposes, a person approves. The system enforces this technically; it does not depend on the AI's good will.
